In-RIP Trapping 1.1 plug-in (December 2001) for Windows 2001-12-07

This archive contains an updated version of the Adobe In-RIP Trapping plug-in that was previously released November 14-December 19, 1997. If inks print out of register, or gaps or color shifts appear between objects, trapping compensates for this misregistration by creating tiny overlaps (called traps) between colors on a printed page. The Adobe In-RIP Trapping plug-in for Adobe® PageMaker® lets an output device that supports Adobe In-RIP Trapping create these traps automatically as part of the printing process so you don't have to take extra steps to prepare each graphic or area of abutting colors. Furthermore, the In-RIP Trapping plug-in lets you designate which pages to trap, speeding up printing of pages that need no trapping (such as those with only one color). You can even create trap styles — collections of custom settings that you use over and over for entire documents or on a page-by-page basis.

Acrobat Messenger 1.0.3 Update for Windows for Windows 2001-11-16

This update installs Adobe Acrobat Messenger 1.0.3, which addresses the following issues:
- Now supports Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP
- The Reinitialize Messenger System Files utility now accounts for the possibility of a hostname change as well as an IP address change.
- The Make Searchable process now automatically restarts itself in a long-term use situation that previously would have hung, preventing documents from being delivered.
- LDAP Directory Listing now works with Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Server.
- When the user mistypes his or her name at the Welcome screen, e-mail messages sent to that address will be delivered to the first name on the Administrators list, if present, or to "Postmaster," if not present. The redirected delivery occurs only if the SMTP server accepts the message to that Welcome screen address. (This change affects notification of Fax and Print delivery status and notification of undeliverable e-mail from the Messenger station.)

Adobe PDF IFilter v5.0 for Windows 2001-10-19

IMPORTANT NOTE: Starting with Acrobat and Reader 7.0.5, iFilter functionality is now bundled within the Acrobat and Reader products. Improvements to iFilter in Acrobat and Reader 8 include support for Vista and Windows Desktop Search, as well as improved performance and stability. It is recommended that you update your copy of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader in order to get the most current iFilter functionality, rather than download and install the stand-alone iFilter plug-in.

Note: On February 18, 2004, Adobe posted a KnowledgeBase Document describing a known issue with Adobe® PDF iFilter 5.0 and Windows XP®. It is recommended that you read this document before installing Adobe PDF iFilter on this operating system.

Adobe PDF IFilter is designed for technically savvy administrators who manage or implement solutions for their users. Adobe PDF IFilter lets you index Adobe PDF documents with Microsoft indexing clients so that your users can easily search for text within Adobe PDF documents.

Key benefits:
? Integrates with existing tools within your company
? Provides an easy solution for users to search within Adobe PDF documents located throughout your company's network and intranet
? Greatly increases the user's ability to accurately locate information

IFilter is a Microsoft specification for filtering text. Further information can be found at:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/indexsrv/ixrefint_9sfm.asp.

Adobe PDF IFilter is a free downloadable Dynamic Link Library (DLL) file that provides a bridge between a Microsoft indexing client and a library of Adobe PDF files. It consists of code that understands the Adobe PDF file format as well as code that can interface with the indexing client. When an indexing client needs to index content from PDF files, it will look in its registry for an appropriate DLL and find the Adobe PDF IFilter. Adobe PDF IFilter will return text to the indexing client. The indexing client will then index the results and return the appropriate results to the user.

For all known issues, please reference the ReadMe file, which is included with the Adobe PDF IFilter.

Updated layout features - all Roman languages for Macintosh 2001-08-10

We recommend updating Adobe InDesign 1.5.2 to include the following layout fixes: Grabber handAfter installing this update, you will be able to access the grabber hand in InDesign 1.5.2 using the same keyboard shortcut you use in Adobe Illustrator when working with text or text on a path. When you press Command + Spacebar and then release the Command key, you’ll have access to the grabber hand without losing your text selection. Note: Pressing the Option key also gives you access to the grabber hand when you’re editing text.Fitting text frames to textThe Fit Frame To Content command (Object > Fitting > Fit Frame To Content) will now resize rectangular text frames smaller, so the frames fit their text content. For more details about fitting text frames to text, refer to the ReadMe file in the layoutup.hqx archive.Master pagesPreviously, you could set up a frame on a master page, apply the master page to a document page, and then fill the frame with text or graphics content. However, InDesign treated this action as an override of the master page item. If you changed the size, position, or shape of the frame on the master page, those changes would not apply to the document page. Now, in response to customer requests, InDesign no longer treats filling master frames with content as an override. For example, if you autoflow text into a master page frame that appears on 10 document pages and then resize the master frame smaller on the master page, all 10 document pages will automatically reflect the change.
